Tour description

With your private driver and executive-class vehicle, you’ll depart from Civitavecchia port and reach Rome in just over an hour.

Once there, meet your private guide and begin your walking tour through the historic district of Trastevere, where cobbled alleys are lined with artisan shops, traditional inns, and old bakeries. Visit the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, home to stunning medieval mosaics. Then, continue through the neighborhood’s bohemian atmosphere until you reach Piazza Trilussa, a popular meeting point for local Roman youth.

Following the Tiber River, cross over to Tiber Island and reach the Ancient Jewish Quarter, one of Rome’s most historic and culturally rich areas. Established in 1555 by Pope Paul IV, this neighborhood has remained remarkably preserved through the centuries. Passing the Theatre of Marcellus and the Portico of Octavia, you’ll arrive at the Synagogue of Rome, built in 1904 and still active today.

As you continue strolling through the area, you may choose to stop for lunch and enjoy one of the traditional dishes of Rome’s Jewish cuisine in one of the excellent kosher restaurants nearby.

After lunch, in agreement with your guide, you’ll decide how to complete your visit to Rome:

You may continue towards Piazza Navona and its elegant fountains, admire the ancient Pantheon with its 2,000-year history, explore the Spanish Steps, and toss a coin into the world-famous Trevi Fountain for good luck.

Alternatively, follow in the footsteps of the Roman emperors with a panoramic tour toward the Colosseum and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Roman Forum from the Capitoline Hill.

Another option is to conclude your day in Vatican City with a visit to St. Peter’s Square and its magnificent Basilica, the largest Christian church in the world.

You’ll return to Civitavecchia Port in time to comfortably reboard your ship.
